From beautiful El Nido to dull Coron

We arrived in El Nido ! First impression ? Hmm, a lot of construction I would say but other than that, beautiful little town.

We actually decided to stay little bit away from the city area and rented a place outside of the main city but really close to the beach area.

Some of the resorts near beach area were so expensive. For 1 night some places even asked like 5200 pesos and in Philippines you should get a villa for that much money.

Luckily we found this place called Casa Avelina and got a small room with private bathroom for 500 pesos a night. It wasn’t luxurious but it was alright to spend few days considering that we will be in the room only during night time. Also in the beach area there were some nice places/bars to hang out and have few drinks.

First night we just enjoyed the view overlooking the sea and some good talk and drinks with Robert (Australian guy that we met in Puerto Princesa) and Tom.

The next day guys were actually thinking about going to island hopping but they were not sure where we could rent a boat because we kinda wanted to do private tour so we could change the timings and places.

Main reason for that was because people that did the island hopping were telling us that the amount of people that are going to the same places at the same time is ridiculous.

So if you would actually like to see the islands without like 20 other boats with each 10 – 12 people on board you should go either earlier then everyone else or do the island hopping other way around.

Our trip was actually pretty nice. The people on our boat that we didn’t know were quite cool too and Marlene who we also met in Puerto Princesa joined us as well.

The islands were so nice, it’s like the pictures that you Google – the water was so clear and gorgeous and the view was breathtaking.

If you are in El Nido, island hopping is definitely one thing I would recommend you to do.
Second thing I would recommend is going to this bar called Pukka bar & resto. It’s pretty awesome looking place with UV lights in the evening, super cozy and great reggae music.

Also I think every night but I’m not sure, they had this awesome reggae live band playing there which was freaking amazing!

The music was good and I personally love to just watch musicians that are so into their own thing that it kind of looks like they are in a different planet.

Over all we were in El Nido for five days so we didn’t do much other than chilling around and enjoying this little cute looking place.

After our days were over in El Nido we decided to go to Coron also for few days so we bought our tickets to the ferry ride to Coron.
The ferry ride itself was not enjoyable because the ferry was pretty old looking, there were no comfortable seats that you could sit on and it was pretty packed with people.

When we got to Coron then first impression of it was that this is definitely the most dirtiest place I’ve seen so far.. There’s trash laying around everywhere and the more closer you get to the water the worse it gets.

All houses near the sea area are built higher from the sea level so for an example if you go do your thing in the bathroom like either wash yourself or go to the toilet and flush down the water then you can hear it go straight under your own house. So you can imagine how bad is the smell in these areas.

When you rent a motorcycle and trip around then you could find some awesome places too. Some cool hot springs place that you can go to and also like 10 km away from the city there’s some nice beaches where there’s nobody else besides you.
